I start my "Landscape" paintings by standing outside with my camera. Nature is a brilliant backdrop for almost any story. But, there are times when a landscape calls to be more than a backdrop. Every exquisite detail in the landscape magically tells a whole story. The structures, textures and colors are too perfect to stand behind anything else. The landscape becomes the story and then it becomes a painting.
